AMMAN: Jordan’s king Abdullah II has said that there is concern in his country about those elements in Israel making attempts to push changes to his custodianship of holy sites in Israeli occupied Jerusalem. The king warned that they have some red lines.

In an exclusive interview with CNN, the king said if people want to get into a conflict with them, they are quite prepared. The king added they will deal those elements, who want to cross red lines.

The king declined to say how his country would respond to changes in the status of the holy sites.  Jordan’s monarchy has been the custodian of holy sites in Jerusalem since 1924.

According to CNN, Benjamin Netanyahu’s next government is likely to be the most right-wing in Israel’s history.

Responding to a question, the king said that they have to be concerned about a next uprising, adding it will not be in the benefit of Palestinians and Israelis if it happens.

The Monarch referred in his answer to Arabs raising the Palestinian flag while cheering for the Moroccan team in the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, noting that if the conflict between Palestinian and Israeli is not resolved, the Arab street will always be naturally sympathetic to the Palestinian cause.
