AMMAN: Jordan’s government will permit peaceful protest demonstrations at Israel’s embassy in Amman but not violence and harm to public properties, its security officials said in a statement.

The statement was issued by Jordan’s Public Security Directorate in the wake of clashes between the protesters and police on Saturday, the Jordanian media reported.

Jordan and War on Gaza

Thousands of protestors gathered near the embassy of Israel for the seventh consecutive night to call for an end to Jordan’s peace agreement with Israel amid its ruthless war on the Gaza Strip.

According to the Public Security Directorate, some protest demonstrators had physically and verbally abused PSD personnel, and also damaged public property on Saturday and during previous protests.

Earlier, Gaza Health Ministry said that over 32,782 Palestinian people mostly women and children, have been killed in the Israeli brutal attacks in Gaza since October 7.  It further said that more than 75,298 people have been injured in the Gaza Strip.
