AMMAN: Jordan’s King Abdullah II on Monday met with Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira and discussed the catastrophic repercussions of Israel’s war in Gaza on the entire region.

The Jordanian king has been holding meetings with regional and global stakeholders since October, calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

His efforts are aimed at ensuring the safety of civilians while facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to the war-hit area by all available means.

Earlier, he had met with US President Joe Biden in Washington, and officials from the UAE, France, Australia, Greece, Egypt, and Bahrain.

King Abdullah during the meeting lauded Brazil for its stance against war in Gaza, acknowledging its continuous support for the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees.

The king reaffirmed his position that peace and stability in the region cannot be met without a just solution to the Palestinian cause.

Talks also covered ties between Jordan and Brazil, exploring avenues to boost cooperation across various economic sectors.

Vieira also held meetings in Ramallah with the President of Palestine and senior political figures, and attended an event at the Yasser Arafat Foundation.
