ISLAMABAD: Parting ways with JUI-F leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Senator Talha Mahmood has announced to join the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad alongside PPP leaders Faisal Kareem Kundi, Nayar Bukhari, and others, Senator Talha Mahmood said that he had been invited to join the PPP during a meeting with Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari a few days ago.

Senator Talha Mahmood has highlighted the economic issues and political conditions facing Pakistan, stressing the collective effort need to overcome the current challenges.

The Senator mentioned his tenure on the Senate’s Interior Committee for about nine years, his chairmanship of the Senate’s largest committee in 2021, and the formation of the Federal Ministry of State and Frontier Regions in 2022.

He claimed that his life is an open book to everyone and he has endeavored to lead a transparent life.

He said that in eighteen years, he never took a salary or any perks from the government of Pakistan. The senator said that he has contributed to Pakistan’s betterment. He maintained that Pakistan requires people who can work at the national level. In the present situation, no party looks better than the PPP and therefore, he has joined the PPP, and they honored him.
