Kazakhstan’s Govt. Bans Vapes: Report

ASTANA: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Joomart Tokayev has inked amendments to the law banning the production, import, and sale of vapes, local media reported on Monday. It added that there will be criminal liability for such acts in the central Asian country. As per the new law, selling vapes will also entail a fine of up to 1,600 US dollars, or arrest of up to fifty days.

The production and import of electronic cigarettes will also be punishable by 16.500 US dollars, restriction of liberty for up to 2 years, or imprisonment. The new law introduces a ban on publicizing of vapes in the country.  The new law will come into force sixty days following its official publication in the press.
