PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government’s introduction of the ‘Heritage By Night’ initiative marks a significant milestone in highlighting Peshawar’s rich cultural heritage.

Launched in collaboration with the Directorate of Archaeology and Museums KP, Tour Da Pekhawar, and the Pakistan Army, the Night Tourism in Peshawar endeavors to unveil the city’s untapped potential and present an authentic portrayal of its identity on both national and international platforms. With the participation of approximately 50 individuals, including families from Peshawar and various cities across Pakistan, the inaugural Night Tourism event provided attendees with an opportunity to delve into Peshawar’s vibrant history, culture, and heritage.

From exploring the Peshawar Museum to wandering through Qissa Khawani bazaar and Sethi House, tourists reveled in the city’s rich heritage throughout the tour. The World Bank-assisted KITE Project Department of Tourism (DoT) is actively contributing to the restoration of museums and heritage assets, lending support to the ‘Heritage By Night’ initiative.

Notably, the enchanting illumination of landmarks such as the Peshawar Museum, Gor Khatri, and Sethi House was orchestrated through the KITE Project, further enhancing the ‘Heritage by Night’ experience. Dr. Abdul Samad, Director of Archaeology, expressed his optimism, stating that the initiative presents a unique opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in the captivating ambiance of Peshawar’s historical sites after sunset.
