KSA Welcomes UNSC Resolution for Ceasefire in Sudan During Ramadan

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia has supported the recent resolution of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), which overwhelmingly calls for a ceasefire in Sudan during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the importance of preserving national integrity and protecting the lives of its people and expressed hope that this resolution would be respected by all factions in Sudan.

Emphasizing the importance of the holy month of Ramadan, the ministry again requested all stakeholders to follow the results of the negotiations held in Jeddah.

These talks will support the Sudanese people by ending hostilities, addressing the crisis through constructive political dialogue, and ultimately working towards an initial agreement that will ensure Sudan’s stability and prosperity, the ministry viewed.
