RIYADH: Clinics supported by Saudi Arabia’s KSrelief have provided medical services to 530 patients in  the governorates of Hadramout and Hajjah in Yemen in July alone.

In Hadramaut, the Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Center, established in district Seiyun, served 308 patients who have lost limbs, mostly because of land mines and unexploded ordnances, according to Saudi media.

The center measured, produced, fitted, delivered, and maintained artificial limbs and prosthetics for sixty-seven patients.

Moreover, 241 people benefited from physiotherapy services, which included specialized consultations and physiotherapy sessions.

In Hajjah, at least 222 patients in Abs district received care at the clinics. They included thirty individuals at the epidemic disease control clinic, nine at the emergency clinic, fifty-four patients at the internal medicine clinic, five patients at the reproductive health clinic, and two persons who visited the awareness and education clinic.

In the meantime, twenty-four patients benifited nursing services, waste disposal activities were conducted twice, and two patients were treated at the dressing and surgery clinic. The clinics also provided medication to one hundred patients.

Saudi Arabia’s other initiatives in Yemen

In addition to providing humanitarian services in the country through KSrelief, the Kingdom supports several initiatives for its neighbor, including clearing of land mines through its Masam project and the development projects through the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen.
