Kuwait Reopens Visit Visas Effective from February 7

KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait has announced the reopening of visit visas, including family, commercial, and tourist categories, with new conditions set to take effect from Wednesday, February 7, 2024, as announced by the Interior Ministry on Monday, Kuwait Times reported.

Under the revised conditions, applicants are required to utilize the meta platform to schedule appointments for their visa applications. The specific conditions for each type of visit visa are outlined as follows:

Family Visit Visa

Eligible for parents, wives, and children, provided the applicant earns a minimum monthly income of KD 400.

Other relatives can apply if the applicant earns at least KD 800 per month.

Submission of round-trip tickets on national carriers.

Written undertaking not to request a transfer from the visit visa to a residency visa.

Commitment to the specified duration of the visit.

In case of violation of the visit duration, both the visitor and the sponsor will face legal procedures.

Treatment at private hospitals is allowed only if necessary during the visit.

Commercial Visit Visa

Issued upon request from Kuwaiti companies and institutions to individuals with appropriate academic or artistic qualifications, aligned with the company’s activity.

Tourist Visit Visa

Issued to citizens of 53 countries eligible for visa on arrival or e-visa through moi.gov.kw.

Available to residents in GCC countries with specific professions.

Can be obtained through hotels and companies connected to the Residency Affairs Department’s system.
