Kyrgyzstan President Visits Central Mosque in Bishkek

BISHKEK: The President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan participated in prayers at the Central Mosque of Bishkek and hosted an ooz achar, for all attendees, local media reported on Saturday.

The President’s spokesperson Askat Alagozov said in a statement via social media that during the event, President Japarov delivered a speech, extending his greetings to Muslims on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan. He emphasized the importance of seeking knowledge from scientists.

In his address, President Japarov expressed his concern regarding the rising incidence of measles among children in the country. He highlighted that a significant portion of reported cases involved unvaccinated children. In response, he underscored the critical role of vaccination in safeguarding children’s health and preventing diseases.

Concluding his remarks, President Japarov prayed for the country’s and the Kyrgyz people’s advancement and prosperity.
