BISHKEK: Employees of Kyrgyzstan’s Emergency Situations Ministry successfully evacuated a Russian climber, E. Efremova, who suffered a leg injury on Ratsek Peak in the Ak-Sai gorge. The challenging mission, conducted via helicopter, demonstrated the ministry’s commitment to swift response and rescue in difficult mountainous terrain.

On January 12, the Ministry of Emergency Situations received an urgent evacuation request from a travel company regarding the injured climber. Despite adverse weather conditions, the aviation search and rescue service helicopter took off and navigated to an altitude of 3,800 meters above sea level, battling strong winds.

The rescue team, displaying exceptional skills, successfully landed at the specified location and evacuated the injured Russian climber. E. Efremova was then safely transported to lower altitudes and handed over to medical professionals for further care.

Despite the challenging circumstances, the climber’s condition is reported to be satisfactory under the supervision of doctors.
