LONDON: Iranian police have reportedly arrested the alleged leader of Sweden’s notorious Foxtrot gang, Rawa Majid, also known as the “Kurdish Fox,” accused of orchestrating a series of fatal bombings and shootings.

According to media reports, Majid was apprehended at the north-western border of Iran, but Swedish news outlets have circulated an audio recording purportedly featuring Majid denying his arrest. Despite his denial, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson revealed that he had unconfirmed intelligence suggesting Majid’s detention. Kristersson emphasized the potential significant impact of this arrest, given the serious criminal charges against Majid.

Majid Grew Up in Sweden

Majid, who grew up in Sweden, has been linked to numerous deaths in 2023 alone, as his Foxtrot gang engaged in violent turf wars. These clashes, often involving boys as young as 13, have led to a spate of casualties, including innocent civilians caught in the crossfire. The gang has been accused of orchestrating well-coordinated and bloody attacks, with twelve fatalities reported in September alone.

Media reports added that Majid might have been arrested due to carrying fraudulent documents. The conflicting reports and ongoing investigation have left the situation surrounding Majid’s arrest shrouded in uncertainty.
