MALE: Maldives President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced continued solidarity with the Palestinian people in their pursuit of recognition and dignity, emphasizing the Maldivian government and citizens’ unwavering support.
The affirmation was made during President Muizzu’s meeting with the Ambassador of Palestine to the Republic of Maldives, Walid A.M. Abu Ali.
Maldives President Strongly Condemns Israeli Aggression
During the meeting, President Dr. Muizzu strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli military aggression on Gaza and the Palestinian people, expressing concern over the current situation. He reiterated the commitment of the Maldives to stand by Palestine and support the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine based on the 1967 borders. The president emphasized the importance of promoting peace and stability in the region.

They also discussed the dire circumstances in Gaza and other Palestinian regions due to the continuing siege. Both the President and the Palestinian Ambassador underscored the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire and concerted efforts to address the broader situation.
During the meeting, the Palestinian Ambassador conveyed warm sentiments from Mahmoud Abbas, the President of Palestine, and congratulated President Muizzu on his assumption of office.
