Ministerial Committee of Joint Arab-Islamic Summit Holds Panel Discussion on Gaza in US

WASHINGTON: Members of the Ministerial Committee, mandated by the Riyadh-hosted Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit and headed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, has held a panel discussion on Gaza developments at Wilson Center in Washington, USA, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Saturday.

According to the SPA, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdurrahman Al Thani, Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, and Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, attended the panel discussion in Washington.

They emphasized that the military operations and escalation in the Gaza Strip are unjustified and violate all global laws and global humanitarian law, calling for an urgent ceasefire, the SPA reported.

The members of the committee indicated that the aid and help brought into Gaza is not sufficient given the scale of the current crisis in the Strip, and the world must immediately provide safe means to enter more medical, food and help.

They also stressed the significance of stopping the military escalation, and also focusing on the truce at the current time, calling for urgent action and making the truce a top priority at this difficult and critical stage for the Palestinians in Gaza, quoting their nations’ determination to continue exerting efforts, along with all partners to establish security and peace.
