SRINAGAR: Political experts and analysts have said the Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian regime was using brutal tactics to muzzle the press in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and compel Kashmiri journalists to become a mouthpiece of occupation troops and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The political experts and analysts in their statements and interviews in Srinagar said that though journalists in IIOJK had been victims of Indian state oppression for a long time, their victimization increased manifold after the Modi government illegally revoked the special status of the territory on August 5, 2019.
Stating that the Modi regime cannot hide its crimes by curbing the media in IIOJK, they urged the international media outlets to come forward and rescue independent journalism in the valley, according to Kashmir Media Service.
They said that journalists continue to work in the most trying conditions in the occupied territory and that a number of journalists have been killed and scores wounded since 1989 in the valley.
Indian Media’s Biased Reporting
They added that the RSS-aligned Indian media’s biased reporting on Kashmir was evident from its fabricated, false news stories about the freedom struggle. The BJP-influenced Indian press was spreading false information about the real situation in the occupied territory.
The analysts said Indian media coverage of IIOJK can be termed a travesty of professional journalism as Indian TV anchors and journalists are narrating what fits the Modi regime’s official policy on Kashmir.
