SRINAGAR, Occupied Kashmir: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has strongly denounced the RSS-backed Narendra Modi-led Indian government for deceitfully portraying a false narrative of peace returning to occupied Jammu and Kashmir following its unilateral and illegal actions on 5 August 2019.
As per Kashmir Media Service reports, the APHC spokesperson, in a statement from Srinagar, emphasized that since the Modi regime’s move in August 2019, it has intensified efforts to oppress Kashmiris and further colonize the region, exacerbating an already precarious situation. Despite India’s militaristic tactics, the spokesman affirmed that the Kashmiris’ unyielding desire for freedom cannot be suppressed.
Paying homage to the Kashmiri martyrs, including recent victims of custodial killings in Poonch, the spokesman vowed that their sacrifices would never be forgotten. Additionally, he extended prayers for the swift recovery of all those who have been injured due to the brutality inflicted by Indian forces in custody in Poonch.
The spokesman urged the United Nations to acknowledge and address the state-sponsored terrorism perpetuated by India in occupied Kashmir. Furthermore, he urged the UN to exert pressure on New Delhi to facilitate a plebiscite in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, allowing the Kashmiri people to independently determine their political future.
