RABAT: Thousands of Moroccans took to the streets of Rabat on Sunday, condemning “genocide” in the Gaza Strip and demanding the severance of diplomatic relations with Israel. The demonstrators, organized by the “National Action Group for Palestine,” comprised a coalition of political parties.

Marching through the city, protesters waved Palestinian flags and wore keffiyeh scarves, denouncing “war crimes and genocide” in Gaza. The demonstration echoed growing discontent over Israel’s military actions and its occupation of Palestinian territories.

One protester, Saoussane, 41, expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people, particularly the innocent lives lost in the conflict. “How can we talk about collateral damage with 17,000 dead? It is genocide—it is not even a war anymore,” she declared.

According to the health ministry in Gaza, the relentless air strikes and ground invasion by Israel have resulted in the death of at least 17,997 Palestinian people, mostly women and children.
