Motorbike, Three-Wheeler Sales Drops 12% During July-November

ISLAMABAD: Motorbike and three-wheeler sales in the country experienced a 12.30 percent decline in the first five months of the current fiscal year (2023-24) compared to the corresponding period last year, according to data from the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA).

From July to November, 459,459 motorbikes and three-wheelers were sold, down from 523,936 units during the same period in the previous fiscal year.

Honda motorcycle sales decreased by 9 percent, falling from 437,708 units to 398,303 units. Suzuki motorcycle sales witnessed a significant decline of 65.48 percent, dropping from 17,450 to 6,023 units.

Similarly, Yamaha motorbike sales decreased from 5,796 units to 3,896 units, and Road Prince motorbike sales experienced a sharp decline of 52.03 percent, going from 14,540 units to 6,974 units. United Auto motorcycle sales decreased 9.12 percent, declining from 40,504 to 36,807 units.

In the three-wheeler category, United Auto witnessed a drop from 960 units to 393 units. However, Sazgar’s three-wheeler sales increased by 35.26 percent, from 3,440 to 4,653 units. The data also revealed a 23.16 percent decrease in Qingqi three-wheeler sales, from 2,486 to 1,910 units.
