NAYPYIDAW, Myanmar: The military junta’s National Solidarity and Peace Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) secretary, Lieutenant General Min Naing, issued a direct threat during a meeting with the ethnic military coalition, Brotherhood Alliance in China’s Kunming.

Min Naing warned of continuous bombing raids on towns seized by revolutionary groups in ethnic states, emphasizing that even if these areas were captured militarily, they would never experience peace.

The NSPNC’s explicit threat is seen as a sign of the regime’s extreme frustration, and military analysts note that the junta has already committed and continues to commit war crimes.

The Brotherhood Alliance, comprising the Arakan Army (AA), the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA), and the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), met with junta representatives in talks mediated by China but reported no agreement.

The regime has been conducting air and artillery strikes on towns seized by the Brotherhood Alliance, resulting in civilian casualties and damage to residential areas.

In northern Shan State alone, at least 96 people have been killed, and 169 injured due to indiscriminate shelling and aerial bombing by junta forces, according to the Ta’ang Women’s Organization.

Pro-junta channels on Telegram have been urging the regime to carry out bombing raids and attacks on towns and outposts it has lost control of, including residential areas.

In Rakhine State and Paletwa Township, the AA has seized control of junta bases, prompting bombardments causing civilian casualties and displacement of hundreds of thousands of people.
