LUCKNOW: Sunil Narine’s scorching knock of 81 off 39 balls powered Kolkata Knight Riders to a commanding 98-run victory over Lucknow Super Giants, catapulting them to the top of the IPL table.

Narine’s explosive innings, featuring six fours and seven sixes, propelled Kolkata to a formidable total of 235-6 after being put in to bat first. Kolkata’s bowlers then dismantled Lucknow’s batting lineup, bowling them out for just 137 runs in 16.1 overs. This victory marked Kolkata’s eighth win in 11 matches, all but ensuring their spot in the playoffs.

Meanwhile, in the day’s earlier fixture, Ravindra Jadeja’s all-round brilliance guided Chennai Super Kings to a 28-run win over Punjab Kings, lifting them to third place in the standings. With the playoffs looming, the competition intensifies as the top four teams vie for a chance to lift the coveted trophy on May 26 in Chennai.
