NASTP Park Aims to Transform Pakistan into Knowledge Economy, Create Jobs: DG

ISLAMABAD: Director General National Aerospace Science and Technology Park (NASTP) Air Vice Marshal (Retd) Asad Ikram said on Monday that the ‘Digital Science Park’ was established in Karachi to propel the country towards a knowledge-based economy and provide employment opportunities for the youth.

Talking to a TV channel, he highlighted the strategic nature of this endeavour, emphasising its potential to benefit the country in numerous ways, adding, that these parks will serve as a launchpad for researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs.

Ikram further highlighted the national and strategic significance of NASTP, anticipating manifold benefits for the country. He expressed confidence that it would drive technological progress and foster self-reliance by offering a robust platform for the youth. The ‘Digital Science Park,’ envisioned as a world-class facility, is poised to become a model for the entire nation, promoting multidisciplinary innovations.

The Director General outlined the government’s commitment to prioritizing science and technology education, aiming to empower the youth to realize their full potential. He emphasized the transformative impact of equipping young individuals with the latest technologies, creating immense opportunities for them.

In response to inquiries, Ikram disclosed that NSTP would encompass diverse sectors such as agriculture technology, automobile technology, education technology, and energy technology, thereby generating additional job opportunities. He asserted that the ‘Digital Science Park’ would mark a significant milestone for the country’s IT industry, addressing digital infrastructure challenges faced by local businesses.  —APP
