LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday reassured that party supremo Nawaz Sharif is coming back to the country not taking revenge but in fact to rescue Pakistan out of the crisis.

Addressing a political gathering in Lahore, Shehbaz Sharif reiterated and confirmed his brother’s homecoming on 21 October and said that Nawaz Sharif is coming back to serve the people of Pakistan and to once again restart the journey towards prosperity.

Nawaz Sharif has been in self-imposed exile in London since November 2019 owing to health reasons. He was disqualified for life in 2017 by the apex court for not declaring a receivable salary.

Asking the party workers to get ready to welcome Nawaz Sharif to underline the injustice done to him, Shehbaz Sharif said that the people of Pakistan were deprived of progress and development due to the ouster of Nawaz Sharif.

Commenting on the performance of the Nawaz Sharif-led PML-N government, Shehbaz Sharif said that his brother came into power at a time when Pakistan faced long hours of load-shedding. In only 4 years Nawaz Sharif rooted out load-shedding.

Recalling the PML-N supremo’s achievements, Shehbaz Sharif said that his brother — despite then-US president Bill Clinton’s telephone call — conducted 6 nuclear tests in response to atomic tests by India.

He said that the country’s progress and development were halted, after the rigged 2018 general elections.

Nawaz Sharif’s Return Plan

The former prime minister Nawaz Sharif will return to Pakistan on 21 October and address a public gathering at 6: 00 pm at Minar-e-Pakistan on the same day, senior PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah said on Tuesday.

Nawaz Sharif’s legal team has completed preparations to seek protective bail from the court ahead of his arrival.
