Nawaz Sharif Poised for Fourth Term as Prime Minister: Khawaja Asif

ISLAMABAD: Senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and former Defence Minister of Pakistan, Khawaja Asif, declared on Saturday that Nawaz Sharif is set to become the Prime Minister of Pakistan for the fourth time.

Addressing a press conference in Sialkot Asif, a veteran politician, announced that Nawaz Sharif is expected to return to Pakistan on October 21 to address the country’s pressing issues.

During the press conference, Asif highlighted the increase in electricity costs, stating that the per unit electricity cost was 11 rupees when Nawaz Sharif left the government in 2017, and it has now risen to 55 rupees per unit. Asif, who also served as the Minister for Water and Power, expressed confidence that under Nawaz Sharif’s leadership, all prevailing crises in Pakistan would be resolved.

Nawaz Sharif’s Disqualification in Panama Case

Asif emphasized that Nawaz Sharif was not directly implicated in the Panama Case, yet he faced disqualification. He revealed that Nawaz Sharif would return to Pakistan after visiting a few foreign countries. Asif proudly recalled the achievements of the previous coalition government, stating that they had successfully navigated Pakistan away from default during their 16-month tenure.
