ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior organizer Maryam Nawaz has said that PML-N Supreme Leader Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has refused to perform as the new Prime Minister (PM) in the current situation; however, he did not quit politics and would remain active to guide her, Shehbaz Sharif and other party leaders.
Taking to her social media account handle X (formerly known as Twitter), Maryum said that the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif would remain active in politics and would supervise the governments in the center and Punjab.

Nawaz Sharif as Prime Minister
Maryum also maintained Nawaz Sharif’s recent speech, saying that PML-N managed to grab a clear majority in the previous elections. However, the PML-N Supremo would avoid becoming Prime Minister in the upcoming coalition set-up.
She further added that Nawaz Sharif has a principled stance, and he has already mentioned in his speeches not to become part of a coalition setup.
Maryum reiterated that she and Ex-PM Shehbaz Sharif would work under the supervision of their leader, Nawaz Sharif, as their soldiers.
The other day, Nawaz Sharif nominated his younger brother and party president, Shehbaz Sharif, for the slot of the prime minister. Meanwhile, Shehbaz Sharif also announced that Maryum Nawaz would be the candidate for the chief minister position in Punjab.
