ISLAMABAD: National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has directed all relevant departments to remain alert given the rain spell from Monday till July 8.
According to a spokesperson of NDMA, heavy rains with gusty winds and thunderstorms are expected in different areas of the country during this monsoon period which can trigger land sliding in hilly places and flooding in the lowlands.
The NDMA asked the district administration and other relevant departments to ensure the availability of staff and emergency machinery as well as inform citizens about the potential danger in flood-risk areas.
NDMA also advised visitors and tourists to remain updated about weather conditions before travel.
It has asked farmers and livestock owners to take necessary precautions due to weather conditions.
