ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) will soon launch a mobile app to provide early warning to people about potential disasters, local media reported.

Following the rain forecast, the NDMA has issued instructions to the concerned departments to keep in mind the possibility of rain and snow in the coming week. During this period, rain and snow are expected in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Murree and Galiyat.

Relevant departments should continuously monitor the flow of water in rivers and canals. All relevant departments should strengthen their communication and support frameworks.

NDMA also directed authorities to make messages available in local languages for public awareness in landslide-prone areas and for timely provision of emergency personnel and machinery.
