KARACHI: In the global motorcycle industry, continual advancements and upgrades are imperative for enhanced performance. However, this vital aspect appears to be lacking in Pakistan, where local manufacturers tend to maintain the same models over extended periods.

It’s widely acknowledged that numerous domestic motorcycle producers in Pakistan persist in offering unchanged models for years on end. Rather than substantial enhancements in functionality, these companies typically resort to superficial alterations such as new decals or designs.

In essence, the introduction of a new motorcycle model in Pakistan often translates to little more than a fresh coat of paint and updated stickers. This trend is exemplified by Atlas Honda’s recent announcement regarding a minor upgrade to the race cone set in the Honda CD 70, promising improved handling and driving performance while retaining the bike’s appearance virtually unchanged for 24 years, despite a price tag nearing Rs160,000.
