New Museum Building Opens at China’s Shang Dynasty Capital Archaeological Site

ZHENGZHOU: The Yinxu Museum in Anyang County, central China’s Henan Province has officially opened its new building to the public, local media reported on Monday.

Situated near the archaeological site of the Yin Ruins, the last capital of the Shang Dynasty (1600 B.C.-1046 B.C.), the expanded Yinxu Museum stands as the first national major archaeological museum dedicated to showcasing the Shang civilization comprehensively.

The new building offers an impressive exhibition area spanning 22,000 square meters, featuring nearly 4,000 items or sets of cultural relics, such as bronzeware, pottery, jade objects, and oracle bones.

Approximately three-fourths of these relics are making their public debut, showcasing numerous new achievements in archaeological research and exploration.

According to the details, visitors can purchase tickets through various platforms including the Yinxu Museum’s official website, as well as the museum and the Yinxu scenic area’s WeChat public accounts.
