NEW YORK: Nicola Peltz, the director of the film “Lola,” has revealed the amusing reason why she had to remove her husband Brooklyn Beckham’s cameo from her directorial debut.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Peltz disclosed that Beckham’s cameo was ultimately axed because he couldn’t stop speaking in a British accent during filming. Despite his efforts, Peltz found it difficult to proceed with the scene as Beckham kept staring directly into the camera while delivering his one-line dialogue, “Hi.”

“Brooklyn is actually really upset that he did get cut from his one little cameo,” Peltz revealed. “But he kept saying it in a British accent, and he was staring directly into the camera. I was like, ‘Oh God, we have to move on, good lord.'”

Nicola Peltz Expresses Gratitude for Beckham

Although Beckham’s cameo didn’t make it to the final cut of the film, Peltz expressed her gratitude for his unwavering support throughout the filmmaking process. She credited him as a massive source of support on set, without which she wouldn’t have been able to accomplish her directorial debut.

Peltz, 29, wrote, directed, and starred in “Lola,” a film that hit theaters on February 9. The movie revolves around Lola James, who strives to save enough money to rescue her little brother, Arlo, from their toxic home. However, tragedy strikes one fateful night, turning Lola’s world upside down.

Reflecting on her experience directing the film, Peltz shared during an appearance on The Today Show that she had never planned on directing “Lola.” However, with the encouragement of her producer, she found the confidence to pursue her directorial aspirations.
