ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) stated on Tuesday that there was no evidence to suggest that former first lady Bushra Bibi had been poisoned.

Hearing the Bushra Bibi’s petition, Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb inquired about her medical condition.

The public prosecutor, Abdul Rehman, informed the court that Bushra Bibi had undergone medical tests at Al Shifa Hospital under the supervision of Dr. Asim Yousaf, and the results indicated she was in good health. It was further clarified that no traces of poison were detected in the tests.

Although the petitioner’s counsel expressed the desire for Bushra Bibi to personally appear before the court to clarify the matter, the court ruled out that no wrongdoing had occurred concerning Bushra Bibi.

Subsequently, the court dismissed the petition after hearing arguments from both sides.

Earlier, allegations had been made by the PTI founder that his wife had been poisoned in Bani Gala where she had been placed under house arrest. He claimed to have observed marks of poison on her skin and tongue.
