ISLAMABAD: A conference on “Artificial Intelligence: Ethics, Creativity and the Future of Work” was held by the faculty of Engineering and Computing, National University of Modern Languages (NUML) on Thursday.
Chancellor Sir Syed CASE Institute of Technology Dr. Shoaib Khan, Senior Research Scientist CSIRO Australia (Online) Dr. Mumeera Bano, and CEO National Information Technology Board (NITB) Babar Majid Bhatti were the keynote speakers while CEO DPL Syed Ahmed, Dr Muazzam Khattak (QaU) and Dr. Faisal Shafait (NUST) were included in panel discussion. Director General NUML Brig Shahzad Munir, Dean, Hods, faculty members and a large number of students also attended the event.
Dr. Shoaib Khan in his address underlined the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Defense System of Pakistan and termed that it is multi billion dollars market for Pakistan.
He urged the new generation to play its role in this regard.
Responsible role of Artificial Intelligence
Dr. Mumeera Bano highlighted responsible role of Artificial Intelligence and shared the Australian model with the students.
CEO NITB Dr. Babar Majid Bhatti stressed the youth to seek knowledge and decide their future role. He briefed the students regarding AI’s role in national development.
Later, a discussion was conducted by a panel from the academia and the industry, and several concrete points were discussed about the future demand of AI in Pakistan.
At the end, DG NUML thanked the guests and presented NUML mementos to them.
