OPEC, OPEC+ Alliance Successful in Stabilizing Oil Prices: Saudi Energy Minister

BAGHDAD:  Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman said on Friday that OPEC and OPEC+ alliance succeeded in stabilizing oil prices to benefit  not only the member nations and but the oil industry in general.

He issued the statement during a celebration hosted by Baghdad on Friday to mark the Diamond Anniversary of OPEC’s formation, in the presence of energy ministers of some member nations, including Kuwaiti interim minister.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman said that the alliance achieved the objective of its founding and increased its march by accepting the Saudi suggestion to found the OPEC+ alliance, which assisted the organization achieve its goals.

He maintained that both OPEC and OPEC+ have succeeded in obtaining stability in markets, thanks to consensus among all member nations of the organization, amid the current conditions and uncertainty facing the globe.

Saudi Minister appreciated the results of the OPEC meeting in Vienna, emphasizing that its results supported member nations and gave calm to oil investors.

Meanwhile, OPEC Secretary General Haitahm Al-Gais said the OPEC played a central role in maintaining stability and balance in energy markets world.
