GAZA CITY: More than 100 innocent Palestinian civilians were martyred, and several injured as brutal Israeli forces struck apartment blocks in a residential area of Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, according to Gaza’s interior ministry. The attack, which caused extensive damage and casualties, has intensified the already dire situation in the region.

The director of the nearby Indonesian Hospital confirmed that at least 100 people lost their lives as a result of the Israeli attack on the refugee camp, underlining the scale of the tragedy faced by the Palestinian residents of Jabalia camp.

This strike is part of the ongoing escalation in the conflict, with Israeli troops pushing deeper into Gaza. Witnesses reported heavy clashes following the advance of Israeli tanks into a residential area in Gaza City, adding to the chaos and fear gripping the region.

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed deep alarm over the escalation of the conflict, especially in light of Israel’s expanding operations in Gaza and the continuous bombardment. Guterres reiterated the top importance of protecting civilians on both sides and emphasized the significance of abiding by international humanitarian law.

Guterres called the current level of humanitarian assistance allowed into Gaza “completely inadequate and not commensurate with the needs of the people,” renewing his plea for a humanitarian ceasefire. He urged the UN Security Council to support such a ceasefire, emphasizing that it could be the first step toward finding a just solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which has long been neglected in the pursuit of lasting peace in the region.

Hamas Urges Muslim Countries to Take Decisive Stance Against Israel

In response to the tragic events, Hamas issued a statement, urging Muslim countries to take a decisive stance against Israel’s “genocide” against the Palestinian people. The Palestinian resistance group condemned the international community’s tolerance of the Israeli aggression and appealed for immediate action to stop the series of massacres.
