Overseas Employment Corporation to Export Workforce to Romania

ISLAMABAD: The Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC), an integral department under the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HD), is gearing up to export a skilled workforce to Romania in various fields.

According to an official source, the enduring partnership between Pakistan and Romania extends across diverse sectors, contributing to mutual prosperity and development. The initiative to export Pakistani workers to Romania is seen as a positive step, not only for creating employment opportunities but also for promoting cultural exchange and understanding between the two nations.

The official highlighted the favorable and welcoming environment in Romania’s dynamic sectors, emphasizing the potential positive impact of this collaboration. Over the past five years, a notable achievement has been the employment of 8,912 Pakistani workers in various sectors in Romania, showcasing the success of such international partnerships.

Responding to queries, the official commended the proactive role of the Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment, which has played a pivotal part in identifying job opportunities for Pakistani workers in Romania. The government is committed to furthering this collaboration, and there are plans to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on labor migration with Romania. This MoU aims to establish a structured framework, ensuring safe, orderly, and regular labor migration while addressing any potential impediments.

The source reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to forging sustainable partnerships with Romanian employers. This commitment seeks to ensure lawful access to overseas employment opportunities for both skilled and unskilled Pakistani workers, aligning with the government’s vision for inclusive economic growth and international cooperation.
