Pak-Saudi Investment Conference Kicks Off in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD:  Two-day Pakistan-Saudi Arabia investment conference has kicked off in Islamabad today, Radio Pakistan reported on Monday. Addressing the conference, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) Assistant Minister of Investment Ibrahim Al-Mubarak has said that his country believes in the economic potential of Pakistan including its demography, and natural resources. Referring to the fraternal relations rooted deep in common faith, culture and shared values, Ibrahim Al-Mubarak said they want to see Pakistan as one of their leading international partners.

A fifty-member high-level business delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) is attending the conference to explore investment opportunities in various sectors as well as to forge strong bonds with local entrepreneurs.

He said that this gathering provides an opportunity to develop deeper understanding of the great opportunity available for investment in Pakistan.  KSA Assistant Minister of Investment Ibrahim Al-Mubarak expressed the confidence that the public and private sectors of both the nations can take their partnership to the next level.  He mentioned that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) is a home to around two million Pakistanis who have contributed significantly to the Kingdom’s vision 2030, Radio Pakistan reported.

Addressing the conference, Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has expressed Pakistan’s commitment to fully facilitate the private sector to take the nation towards export led growth.  He stated that the government is focusing on bringing foreign direct investment to uplift diverse sectors in the country.

He said that Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves has risen to nine billion dollars.  He added that the local currency is stable over the past ten months while the inflation is down to seventeen percent.
