ISLAMABAD: The opening matches of the Women’s and Departmental categories in the All Pakistan 3×3 Ramadan Cup Basketball Tournament witnessed impressive wins by Pakistan Army, Lycans A, Wapda, and Navy.
The tournament, organized by the Federal Basketball Association (FBBA) at the outdoor basketball courts of Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad, kicked off with a series of exciting games.
Organizing secretary Ouj E Zahoor noted the significant participation of basketball teams in this four-day event, which is being played under floodlights with the support of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB).
In the Women’s category, Pakistan Army displayed a stellar performance, defeating AK White with a score of 16-3 points.
Aamina Mohsin contributed 6 points, while Aiman Riaz added 4 points to secure the victory for Army. Lycans A also clinched a win with an 11-2 score against Lycans Juniors with the help of Farhna Naz’s 5 and Fariha Mushtaq’s 3 points. Lycans B secured a 6-2 victory over AK Purple in the third match.
In the departmental category, Wapda (A) emerged victorious against Army (C) with a score of 19-16 points, led by Zain ul Hassan’s impressive 15 points. Navy also delivered a dominant performance, defeating Police (B) with a score of 18-2 points, with Zia ul Rehman contributing 8 points and Usman Khalid adding 6 points.
Moreover, Wapda (C) secured a win against Police with a score of 21-13 points, thanks to Aalijah and Sajid Ali scoring 10 points each. Wapda (A) and Wapda (C) continued their winning streaks by defeating Army (B) and Police (A) with scores of 21-11 and 21-13 points, respectively.
