Pakistan By-election Campaigns Set to End Late Friday Night

ISLAMABAD: The ongoing by-election campaigns in twenty-one constituencies of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Baluchistan are set to conclude on the night falling between Friday and Saturday, allowing voters ample time to contemplate their choices.

In accordance with election regulations, the election campaign will come to an end precisely at midnight falling between April 19 and 20.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has advised that candidates who continue engaging in political activities after the deadline will face legal consequences. The election will be conducted on Sunday.

Public, Media Urged to Work Together for Fair By-election

Moreover, the electoral watchdog urged the media and the public to work together to uphold a free, fair, and transparent poll process.

The ECP cautioned that those who breach the regulations could be subject to penalties such as imprisonment for a maximum of 2 years, a fine of up to 100,000 rupees, or both.
