Pakistan Chalks Out Plan to Deal with Emergencies During General Elections 2024

PESHAWAR: The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) of the provincial health department has outlined a comprehensive plan to properly tackle any emergency situations during the upcoming general elections to be held on February 8, 2024.

According to details received from the health directorate, a Central Emergency Control Room (CECR) would be set up a day before the election date and would be operational till February 10 (12 pm), under the supervision of the Additional Director General of Health Services at the compound, whereas a number of CECRs would also be established in 15 other districts of the province.

Availability of Doctors, Supporting Staff During General Elections

District Health Officers and Medical Superintendents in each District Headquarters Hospital would be available while supervising the emergency control rooms under continuous directions from the head office in Peshawar.

Meanwhile, other medical and supporting staff would also be available during the assigned days to tackle any prompt and emergency situation.

The health department also planned to display a list of the performing doctors and assistant staff in the relevant centers, along with their contact numbers.
