BEIJING: As businesses adopt more sustainable practices to satisfy growing demand, the market for recycling scrap metal is expanding rapidly.
A mix of environmental awareness, economic advantages, and growing industries dependent on scrap metals are driving the market forward.
In a recent development, Wen Yonghong, the secretary-general of the Aluminum Working Committee of the Trade and Economic Multifunctional Platform for SCO Countries, led member companies of the organization on a field research visit to the Hyderabad Industrial Zone in Pakistan, as reported by CEN.
Wen Yonghong expressed his views on the visit, stating, “Hyderabad Industrial Zone boasts a well-established metal recycling ecosystem and state-of-the-art production facilities, making it an ideal partner for advancing China-Pakistan cooperation in the metal recycling field. We are eager to strengthen our collaboration with Pakistan and jointly develop this industry.”
During their visit, the delegation had the opportunity to tour metal recycling-related facilities within the industrial zone and engaged in discussions with the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce.
A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the two parties, outlining plans for comprehensive collaboration in scrap metal recycling and remelting. The Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce pledged its full support and assistance to ensure the timely completion of this project. —APP
