Pakistan Day Reception Hosted in Ankara

ANKARA: The Embassy of Pakistan in Turkiye has hosted a grand reception commemorating the 84th Pakistan Day.

According to a statement issued by the Pakistan Embassy in Ankara on Friday, Turkish Minister for National Defence Yasar Guler and Turkish Minister for Trade Prof. Dr Omer Bolat were the chief guests on the occasion.

Yasar Guler expressing his views lauded the exemplary and historic bilateral ties, particularly highlighting the flourishing defense relations and excellent collaboration between the armed forces of both the countries. He stressed that comprehensive and strategic bilateral ties between Pakistan and Turkiye play a vital role in promoting peace and stability, both regionally and internationally.

Acknowledging the historical importance of the bilateral ties, Turkish Minister for Trade Prof. Dr Omer Bolat underlined the significance of transforming the fraternal relations between Pakistan and Turkiye into economically beneficial multifaceted partnership.

He was confident that this friendship would continue to strengthen in the years to come, based on shared values and common interests.

Ambassador Dr. Yousaf Junaid, in his remarks, explained the historical importance of Pakistan Day, highlighting the pivotal role of the Pakistan Resolution adopted on 23rd March 1940, for the creation of a separate homeland for Muslims based on Two Nation Theory.

He paid rich tribute to the visionary leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and also reaffirmed commitment of Pakistan’s current leadership to transforming Pakistan into a bastion of peace, progress, and human dignity.

Highlighting the deep-rooted Pakistan-Turkiye friendship, Ambassador reiterated that the ties between the two nations epitomizes sentiments such as a “heart-to-heart connection” and “two countries, one nation.”

He also thanked President Erdogan for his stewardship of the bilateral relationship and stressed the importance of working together to strengthen these brotherly ties for future to come.

The gather was attended by Former Speaker Turkish Parliament Ismail Karaman, Chief of Turkish General Staff General Metin Gurak, Commander Turkish Air Force General Ziya Cemal Kadioglu, Former Deputy Prime Minister Recep Akdag, Turkish Land Forces Commander General Selcuk Bayraktaroglu, Members of Parliament, high-ranking Turkish civil and military officials, diplomats, academia, Pakistani community, and media representatives.
