ISLAMABAD: Lab-e-Shireen is a popular and delightful Pakistani dessert that is often served on special occasions and during festive seasons. It is a colourful and flavourful dessert, known for its rich and creamy texture. Here’s a basic recipe for Lab-e-Shireen:
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 litres of Milk
- 1 cup of Sugar
- 1/2 cup of National Vanilla Custard
- 1 cup of Cream
- 1 cup of Fruit Cocktail
- 1 cup of National Strawberry Jelly
- 1 cup of National Banana Jelly
- 10-12 pieces of Cham Cham
Ingredients for Strawberry Jelly Preparation:
- 2 cups of Water
- 1 pack of National Strawberry Jelly
Ingredients for Banana Jelly Preparation:
- 2 cups of Water
- 1 pack of National Banana Jelly
Method:
- Combine milk and custard in a jug, mixing thoroughly.
- In a pan, bring milk and sugar to a boil. Add the prepared custard mixture, and cook until it reaches a thick consistency.
- In another pan, bring water to a boil, add strawberry jelly, and mix well.
- Allow the mixture to cool, then refrigerate for 30-40 minutes.
- In a separate pan, bring water to a boil, add banana jelly, and mix well.
- Allow the mixture to cool, then refrigerate for 30-40 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine the prepared custard, banana jelly, strawberry jelly, almonds, rainbow Sewiyan, fruit cocktail, and cream. Mix thoroughly.
- Lab-e-Shireen is now ready to be served.
