Pakistan Ex-Caretaker PM Submits Nomination Papers for Senate Elections

QUETTA: Pakistan’s former Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar on Saturday submitted his nomination papers for senate elections from Balochistan.

According to the Election Commission’s Balochistan chapter, today is the last day for submission of nomination papers. 

A spokesperson for the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) stated, “Senator Danesh Kumar submitted the nomination papers on behalf of PM Kakar.”

It’s important to note that Balochistan has eleven vacant senate seats, and the ECP has scheduled the polling for April 2nd.

The Balochistan Assembly members will have elect 11 Senators, which include seven for general seats, two for women, and two for technocrats.

Earlier today, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb also submitted nomination papers for senate elections. His nomination papers for the general seat of the senate were submitted by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) leader Pervaiz Rasheed. 

PML-N’s leaders Mustafa Ramday and Ahad Cheema have also submitted the nomination papers for the seat of technocrat.
