ISLAMABAD: Skipper Pakistan Cricket Team Babar Azam has said that his team felt no pressure from playing at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium— the world’s biggest cricket stadium—which has the capacity to accommodate one hundred and 30 thousand spectators.

Addressing a press conference in Ahmedabad on Friday, Pakistan’s captain said that his side was well prepared to go head-to-head against India on Saturday. During the presser, the skipper seemed confident in his team ahead of their most-anticipated and high-voltage match against India.

The Men in Green, who would face India in the world’s biggest stadium, could potentially face challenges as the stadium is quite different than Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, where Pakistan won their match amid good support from the crowd.

According to ESPNcricinfo, the stadium features an “imposing structure which has the capacity to accommodate about 132,000 spectators”. The stadium was built on a 50-acre land donated by the state government in a duration of nine months.

Meanwhile, Babar said: “The more time we spend in a stadium, the more it helps to understand the conditions of the location.”, adding that, like every city, the conditions in Ahmadabad are also different. He showed confidence while saying that Pakistan has the ability to beat India this year.

“We have beaten India in T20 before, it doesn’t mean we cannot beat them here.”, Babar said.

The skipper of Pakistan’s team further said that if fans from Pakistan were also permitted to attend the T20 World Cup in India, it would have been better for the team. Nevertheless, he added that he was optimistic that the fans in Ahmedabad would also support them as they did in Hyderabad.

Earlier, the Pakistani cricket team arrived in Ahmedabad on Thursday night and is currently undergoing tough practice sessions as they gear up for their much-awaited match.

Pakistani fans are eagerly anticipating another top-notch performance from the inform Mohammad Rizwan and Abdulah Shafiq. They also hoped Babar would bounce back in the match against India.
