Pakistan Government Approves Rs7.5b Ramazan Package

ISLAMABAD: The caretaker federal government of Pakistan has approved a Rs7.5 billion Ramazan package to facilitate citizens in the holy month.

The Utility Stores Corporation (USC) has started preparation for the relief package, a local media outlet reported on Wednesday.

In the package, around nineteen food items would be subsidized, which included ghee, sugar, flour, cooking oil, rice, dates grams of flour, milk, pulses, beverages, and spices.

Families to Benefit from Ramazan Package

Families registered with the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) would benefit from the Ramazan package whose score on the poverty index is PTM-60 or less.

The USC spokesperson said that those who were not registered, are directed to contact BISP nearby office for registration.

He said that stores would also be established for general users.

The Ramazan package is hoped to help the poor segments of society meet their daily needs during the holy month.
