Pakistan High Commission Issues Visas to Hindu Pilgrims to Visit Katas Raj Temple

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has issued sixty-two visas to a group of Indian Hindu pilgrims for their visit to Shree Katas Raj Temple, also known as Qila Katas, in the Chakwal district of Punjab from December 19 to 25.

Expressing his views on the occasion, Charge d’ Affaires Aizaz Khan wished the Indian pilgrims a memorable stay in Pakistan, according to a press release issued from the Pakistan High Commission on Monday.

Under the Pakistan-India Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines of 1974, each year, thousands of Hindu and Sikh pilgrims from India visit Pakistan to attend various religious festivals.

Pakistan Desires to Promote Interfaith Harmony

The issuance of pilgrimage visas to the Indian pilgrims was in line with the Government of Pakistan’s efforts to facilitate the visits to religious shrines and promote interfaith harmony, the press release added.
