Pakistan Hockey Federation Elects First Woman President

KARACHI: PPP leader Shehla Raza has achieved a historic milestone as she becomes the first woman to hold the position of President in the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF). Her appointment was ratified during a gathering of PHF Congress members in Karachi. The Congress members unanimously endorsed the decision of her appointment.

Additionally, Shuja Iqbal Raja was unanimously appointed as the Finance Secretary by the Congress. Discussions during the session covered the scrutiny of hockey clubs and the electoral process of the PHF, in line with the recommendations of the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Furthermore, a five-member committee was established to oversee the scrutiny of hockey clubs.

In her address, Shehla Raza expressed gratitude to the PHF members and vowed to tackle the challenges confronting hockey in Pakistan. She also announced the appointment of Olympian Samiullah Khan as an advisor to the President of PHF.
