ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar extended appreciation to Swiss companies operating in Pakistan while urging more firms from Switzerland to invest in the country, especially in renewable energy and IT sectors.
During a meeting with the Ambassador of Switzerland Georg Steiner, Dar emphasized Pakistan’s strong ties with Switzerland and highlighted the potential for expanding cooperation in various areas such as trade, investment, climate, tourism, and migration.
Dar also mentioned the Memorandum of Understanding on Disaster Management signed between the two countries, expressing hope that it would enhance collaboration and enable the utilization of technology and expertise to address natural calamities.
The meeting covered discussions on regional dynamics and multilateral issues. Dar commended Switzerland’s role in the multilateral arena and its contributions to humanitarian and peace-building efforts.
Pakistan and Switzerland maintain close relations with regular interactions. Last July, the Swiss Foreign Minister visited Pakistan, and Bilateral Political Consultations were held in January this year.
