Pakistan Issues New Guidelines for Afghanistan Flights

KARACHI: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of Pakistan issued new guidelines on Saturday for flights originating from Afghanistan and entering Pakistan’s airspace.

According to the new directives, flights entering Pakistani airspace from Afghanistan must provide a minimum of 15 minutes advance notice. The CAA has also assigned a specific frequency for flights entering from Afghanistan to Pakistan, offering guidance to ensure safe and regulated air travel.

In addition, the aviation authority issued a caution to flights bound for Afghanistan, stating that such flights to enter at their own risk.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) resumed its flight operations to Kabul on September 13, 2021. The Civil Aviation Authority of Afghanistan had granted permission for PIA to land at Kabul airport. The national carrier completed preparations for the Kabul flight operations, said the PIA spokesperson.
