ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Caretaker Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, and Parliamentary Affairs, Murtaza Solangi, said on Monday that the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting was launching the media helpline to redress the complaints of both local and foreign journalists during general polls.

Addressing the helpline’s launching ceremony, the minister said that in the present era of digital media, it was necessary to upgrade and improve working.

He said that the media-complaint application would be accessible through any browser to both local and foreign journalists and media persons covering the general election.

The minister said that the caretaker government helped the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in every way to ensure free and transparent polls within the timeframe announced by the latter.

He added that only two days were left to the polling day when over 120 million Pakistanis would exercise their right to vote.

He further said that only the people of Pakistan could choose their representatives by using their right to vote to run the affairs of the nation, as the preamble of the Constitution clearly states that this country will be run by its elected representatives.

Earlier, the minister inaugurated the media complaint app at the Press Information Department.
