Pakistan Minister Reads News Bulletin on ‘World Radio Day’

ISLAMABAD: On World Radio Day on Tuesday, Murtaza Solangi, the acting federal minister for information, broadcasting, and parliamentary affairs, made new history by reading an English news bulletin on Radio Pakistan.

The minister gave a significant message, stating that the government considers radio as a vital communication medium while reading the 1 p.m. news bulletin on Radio Pakistan. This gesture underscored the administration’s dedication to bolstering radio broadcasting countrywide. Radio Pakistan, known as the oldest and most extensive broadcasting entity in Pakistan, commands a diverse audience with its programming in various languages.

The minister’s initiative will support digital radio broadcasting in Pakistan and bolster Radio Pakistan’s position as the country’s main broadcaster.  Solangi also shared his opinions on a range of topics during his participation in Radio Pakistan’s podcast program.

The minister declared that the government was determined to strengthen Radio Pakistan and transform it into a stronger and more dynamic communication tool. According to him, the government was also attempting to encourage digital radio transmission in Pakistan.  “Radio Pakistan is a national broadcasting organization with a long and rich history,” Solangi stated. He further said that Radio Pakistan had always taken the lead in fostering harmony and national cohesion. It is worth mentioning that the World Radio Day is commemorated annually on February 13th. —APP
